Shocking Video: Young Elephant Gunned Down by Tourist for 'Trophy' - Tell UPS to Stop Shipping Hunting Trophies

Trophy tourists and those who make a living selling hunting trips and accessories like to claim that they kill animals in the name of "conservation" or, patronisingly, to support "natives" – but as this just-breaking PETA video shows, hunting has nothing to do with respecting wildlife and everything to do with taking sadistic pleasure in needlessly taking lives.

All animals are beloved by their mates and offspring, but to hunters, they're only the sum of their body parts, seen simply as living targets to kill, decapitate, and display on the wall. Since 2018, hundreds of endangered species’ parts have been imported into Australia, including “trophies” from monkeys, crocodiles, hippos and caracals.

By allowing hunters to ship macabre “trophies”, UPS is supporting the slaughter of elephants, hippos and other magnificent species.

Please use the form below to urge UPS to ban the shipping of hunting trophies. UPS has banned the transport of not only shark fins and certain live animals but also ivory—and if it can ban an animal's tusks, surely it can ban the head and other body parts, too.

I am outraged to learn that UPS still allows trophy hunters to ship body parts of elephants, hippos, giraffes, and other wild animals. Please do the right thing and ban all shipments of hunting trophies immediately.

All animals are beloved by their own mates and babies, but to hunters they are merely targets to kill, decapitate, and hang on the wall as a trophy. Trophy hunters lack empathy, compassion, and respect for wild animals, who just want to be left in peace. They get a sick thrill out of taking a life and are willing to pay thousands of dollars to travel the world just to kill animals—animals who are often trapped in a fenced compound or private game reserve or who are lured with bait out of the safety of a national park, where the shooter awaits them. Some who facilitate this blood sport track down animals for a fee. It is not uncommon for them to encounter sleeping animals, who can be shot at extremely close range.

UPS has already banned the transport of shark fins, certain live animals, ivory, and ivory goods—why stop there? If you do not wish to support wildlife slaughter, you must do the right thing and stop shipping hunting trophies.
