Urge LANO to Drop Lanolin!

Skincare company LANO claims that the lanolin – a waxy substance found on sheep’s wool – used in its products is “humanely (and cruelty-free) sourced” from “happy” sheep. Yet mutilating and slaughtering sheep is anything but cruelty-free. Please urge the company to use vegan ingredients instead.

Humane Washing

Companies use this type of language (aka “humane washing”) to trick consumers into thinking the products they buy aren’t harming animals. The truth is that lanolin is always a product of cruelty to animals.

Lanolin Explained

The lanolin used in skincare products comes from sheep who were raised for their wool. By selling these products, LANO is supporting an industry in which sheep are mutilated, punched, and stomped on before their throats are slit. And the company is trying to market lanolin as “humanely (and cruelty-free) sourced”.

Better, Vegan Options Are Available

In addition to being cruel, the use of lanolin in skincare products is completely unnecessary. Shea butter, orange peel “wax”, and other vegan ingredients are super-moisturising and don’t support the violent wool industry.

Urge LANO to Cut Ties With Sheep Mutilation

Sheep and consumers deserve better – please urge LANO to remove all false claims from its website and switch to using only vegan ingredients.
